We’re proud to share that Dr. Aubrey J. Grant, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Equity Commons, recently participated in the 2025 ACC Health Equity Summit hosted by the American College of Cardiology in Washington, DC.
The summit brought together a national community of clinicians, health system leaders, researchers, and advocates to explore strategies for advancing equity in cardiovascular care. With sessions focused on dismantling disparities, fostering culturally competent care, and building more inclusive clinical environments, the event provided a space for both rigorous learning and collaborative solution-building.
As a board-certified cardiologist and an equity-driven entrepreneur, Dr. Grant is deeply committed to transforming not only clinical outcomes, but also the systems and structures that shape the lived experience of care. At Equity Commons, he leads our work developing immersive Virtual Reality empathy training that helps health professionals recognize and address bias, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and improve communication — especially with patients from historically marginalized communities.
Attending the ACC Health Equity Summit gave Dr. Grant the opportunity to connect with other leaders working toward shared goals and to exchange ideas on how institutions can create lasting change. “There was a real spirit of action in the room,” he reflected. “Everyone here understands that equity is not a side initiative — it’s the foundation of excellent care. And we each have a role to play in making it real.”
The Equity Commons team is grateful to the American College of Cardiology for hosting such a timely and thoughtful event and for creating space for dialogue that moves beyond theory and into implementation. We’re also honored that Dr. Grant could be part of it, bringing Equity Commons’ mission to a broader audience and learning from the brilliant minds committed to this work.
As we continue to grow our impact, we’re energized by the collective momentum across the health care landscape — and we’re more determined than ever to help lead that change.
